When it counts, the world moves closer together. In the corona crisis, Audi is supporting medical and social institutions in its home regions and providing humanitarian aid at the national and international level. The company is providing five million euros in emergency aid for this purpose. The Board of Management of AUDI AG and the Works Councils at the Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm sites have now launched this package.

The Audi A3 is a successful model: Today, Plant Manager Achim Heinfling unveiled the new, eagerly awaited fourth A3 generation in front of employees in the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt on the occasion of the world premiere of the new premium compact. Since its market launch in 1996, Audi has delivered more than five million models of the A3 family worldwide. The success story will now continue. The new A3 Sportback** impresses with its dynamic design, new light signature, and digital operating concept. Electrified drives ensure high efficiency, supported by innovative assist systems.

With a value of €20,000, the Audi Short Film Award at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival goes to “Genius Loci” by Adrien Mérigeau. This year’s international short film jury is made up of the Hungarian animation film maker Réka Bucsi, the Turkish curator Fatma Çolakoğlu and the film maker Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese from Lesotho. The jury’s statement on this year’s award winner: “That other night her thoughts merged with the flickering street lights, the skyline and the trash on the sidewalks. This beautifully crafted film effortlessly coordinates the chaos of being human.”

Audi established the premium compact class segment with the A3 in 1996. The fourth generation of the success model is now being introduced on the market – sporty, digitalized and fully connected. Beneath the progressive design of the body of the new A3 Sportback lie many innovations from the full-size class, for example the infotainment, suspension, and driver assist systems.

Audi is systematically moving forward with its e-offensive: The Audi e-tron and the Audi e-tron Sportback are becoming more agile, sharper and more dynamic as S models. The three electric motors, two of which are located on the rear axle, together provide 370 kW of boost power and 973 Nm (717.6 lb-ft) of torque. This allows the two purely electrically driven models to accelerate to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 4.5 seconds. The intelligent drive control raises vehicle safety, and dynamic handling in particular, to a new level: In addition to the electric all-wheel drive, there is the electric torque vectoring with active and fully variable torque distribution on the rear axle.
